A showcase of our next generation of young musicians.
Shepparton Young Instrumentalist Award is a regional competition based in Shepparton and run by local musicians and teachers.
Founded in 2011, the aim of the award is to provide young musicians with a high quality music performance experience and feedback from industry professionals.
In 2018 the competition had over 80 students who entered the competition, with over 100 section entries in Piano, Strings, Voice, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion. This year SYIA is adding sections for Classical Guitar, Contemporary Guitar and Digital Piano.
The grand prize for the competition is $500 and a chance to perform a solo with an orchestra.
