Melbourne Symphony Orchestra returns in 2016 with a classic introduction to the sights and sounds of a symphony orchestra.

Times: 10.00am (sold out) & 11.30am

School groups are encouraged to join the MSO on an interactive music journey for little hands, eyes and ears, where they can sing, dance and clap to their heart's content.

Peter is a determined boy with a thirst for adventure. He wants to stare into the eyes of the thing that scares him the most – but what will happen when he does?

Since its premiere in Moscow in 1936, Prokofiev’s orchestral parable has become one of the most enduring works of music education. Peter and the Wolf has been a window into the world of orchestral music for millions who have learned to recognise the distinct sounds of instruments associated with the story’s characters, and to appreciate the way in which characters can also be identified by clearly defined themes.

In October 2016, the MSO presents a live performance of this classic story with orchestra and narration. This is the perfect introduction to an orchestra for kindergarten to Grade 4 students. Come and meet Peter and the Wolf, the animals of the story and the musicians of the MSO.
