Victorian State Ballet returns to Riverlinks, performing Le Corsaire. Featuring internationally recognised artists in a rich display of outstanding skill, it’s one of the world’s most loved ballets.
Telling the story of a pirate’s adventure portrayed through superb classical ballet skill, colourful costuming and virtuoso choreography. Le Corsaire features captive maidens, rich pashas, dramatic rescues, culminating in an unexpected shipwreck.
Manager Performing Arts and Conventions, at Riverlinks, Ken Cameron says, “It’s wonderful to see the Victorian State Ballet return again this year. This performance is particularly special, with some local dance students being featured in the show.”
“Le Corsaire is highly entertaining and full of adventure and comedy. It’s a memorable, light hearted experience for families available here in Shepparton,” says Mr Cameron.
Based on The Corsair by Lord Byron and choreographed by Michelle Sierra, this exhilarating production is full of adventure, action, comedy and romance, with a famous Pas de Trois, one of the most breathtaking spectacles in all of ballet.
Le Corsaire performs on Sunday 2 June at 2.00pm at Riverlinks Eastbank.
Tickets are available online or through the Riverlinks Box Office: 03 5832 9511.
