Around the World in 80 Days is a mad-cap race against the clock as you travel the world.
Ellis Productions present Around the World in 80 Days at Riverlinks WestSide on Tuesday 23 October.
From the director that brought us The 39 Steps, buckle up as Around the World in 80 Days takes you on a high speed, mad-cap, transcontinental race against the clock. It is a whirlwind of a show, full of Victorian invention and daring deeds.
Flanked as the original Amazing Race, Around the World in 80 Days is an adaption of the 1873 novel by Jules Verne’s. The production is light-hearted, silly and farcical fun.
“This production is a delightful and somewhat silly romp bringing to the stage one of Jules Verne’s classics… you will laugh and enjoy this familiar ride around the world”. – Arts Review.
The story begins with a bank robbery by a mysterious figure, then introducing the audience to Phileas Fogg and his loyal valet, Mr. Passepartout. Hot in their pursuit is Detective Fix of Scotland Yard, convinced that Fogg robbed the bank. This mad-cap adventure incorporates classic farce, theatrical storytelling and zany silliness.
“A small stage, a clever set, creative direction, and 3 talented actors is all you need to whisk away an audience, as proven by Around the World in 80 Days”. – Broadway World Australia.
This production produces a piece of theatre that will have you crying in laughter as you travel the world.
