For more than 30 years, Mem Fox’s Possum Magic has captivated and enchanted young people from all of Australia. This September, over 1,500 students will have the opportunity to enjoy this brand-new stage adaption live at Eastbank.
The timeless Australian story tells the tale of Grandma Poss, who loves making magic. But one day, when danger arrives in the form of a snake, Grandma Poss uses her most magical spell to make the snake, Hush, invisible.
Hush has many wonderful adventures, but being invisible isn’t all it’s cracked up to be and Hush longs to see herself again. Together, they go on a journey to find the special spell that makes Hush visible again.
Manager Performing Arts and Conventions at Riverlinks, Ken Cameron says, “The Riverlinks education season is a great way to put on performances that schools and families enjoy. Possum Magic is one of Australia’s most loved stories. Using its playful nature, the performance encourages children to find their own voice and visibility, just like Hush.”
Possum Magic will be performing at Riverlinks Eastbank on Tuesday 17 September at 10.30am and 1.00pm.
Tickets are sold out. Please call the Riverlinks Box Office: 03 5832 9511 to be added to the waiting list.
