Hallowed Ground – Women Doctors in War is a new drama, currently on a national tour and set to play at Riverlinks Westside on Wednesday 5 June. Set against the vast landscape of world conflict from World War One to contemporary times, four women unite across a century to share their personal stories of active service in the military.
The performance is inspired by personal diaries, historical documents, face to face interviews and in particular, a unique ongoing collaboration with Professor Susan Neuhaus who served as a surgeon in Afghanistan during a career spanning over 20 years.
Manager Performing Arts and Conventions at Riverlinks, Ken Cameron says, “This play is incredibly moving as it is based on real stories which are brought to life through vivid accounts of revelation, loss, struggle and kinship.”
“I believe that Hallowed Ground will appeal to a wide and varied audience. Following the performance, there will be an opportunity to meet the cast, ask questions and enjoy light refreshments,” said Mr Cameron.
Hallowed Ground – Women Doctors in War will be performed on Wednesday 5 June, 7.30pm at Riverlinks Westside.
Tickets are available online or through the Riverlinks Box Office: 03 5832 9511.
